Angus is a producer and director with over 38 years of experience producing commercials, music videos, documentaries, short films, corporates, title sequences, animation and websites.

Angus started work in the film industry as a runner in 1982 and went on to produce commercials and music videos for many years for other directors before moving on to directing himself in 1997.

In his work as a producer Angus has extensive experience dealing with large production pipelines managing teams of over 100 people, and in the management of shoots with high levels of integrated post-production.

Angus was Patricia Murphy’s executive producer from 1987 to 1997 and during that time produced an average of 18 commercials a year for her company generating tens of millions of pounds of commercials production for the UK Film Industry.  During this ten year period Patricia became the most awarded female commercials director worldwide winning at every major commercials awards ceremony including gold and black awards at D&AD, Creative Circle, Epica and numerous other international and US awards.

Angus has produced complex jobs with large crews in a number of countries including Russia, Hungary, The USA, Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, South Africa, Namibia and the UK.  He has also worked in the development, promotion and production of a wide range of directors at a variety of production companies including Tony Kaye Films, Patricia Murphy Films, Limelight UK and BFCS.

In total Angus has produced over 700 commercials, music videos, documentaries, corporate films, trade shows and other projects on budgets of up to £2.5 million UK – including many multi-national and pan-European campaigns for top tier brands such as Volvo, Air France, Yellow Pages, United Airlines, Elida Gibbs, Swatch, Barclays Bank, Skoda, Sure, Coca Cola, Holiday Inn, Sydney Airports, Skittles, Range Rover etc.

Directors Angus has worked with include Tony Kaye, Patricia Murphy, Steve Barron, Simon West, Peter Care, John DeBoorman, Michael Seresin, Greg Desmond, Alison Maclean, Floria Sigismondi, Alex Paton, John MacFarlane, Alison Maclean, Simon Drewitt, Paul Donnellon, Dave Stewart, Crispin Glover, Charmain Choo, Richard Heslop, Nick Wickham, Trent O’Donnell, Leigh Richards, Darryn Devlin, Dave Stewart.

In 1997 Angus produced Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” video with New Zealand director Alison Maclean which was hugely successful and was broadcast around the world.

In the same year he produced the animated music video for Dave Stewart’s “Happy To Be Here”, directed by Dave Stewart.

At the end of 1997 Angus took a change of direction from producing and established himself as a director of music videos in his own right.  He was signed by Michael Serensin of BFCS as a director of commercials and videos until their closure several years later.

Angus has directed over 50 music videos, many of which charted in UK and European top 20 lists, including 911’s “Celebrate” which was UK number one for a number of weeks.  The video of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” which Angus produced was also charted no. 1 in many countries around the world (ironically not in the UK) and is still today one of the world’s most recognised music videos.
